mysterious body, mysterious pills

Well, the mysteries of the body has worked wonders on our minds for a long long time but its the pills this time what had me thinking. Hard enough to fall sick all over again!
The most important thing one might expect from a medicine is its efficacy, and from a doctor, is to know if any given medicine falls under that category or not.But this 'market' is full of medicines which are nothing more than edible - and at times, not so edible substances. And YET, doctors prescribe it. Mostly because the doctor are not aware! If it sounds ridiculous, then let me stand by you in solidarity.

I am not sure of their (the doctor's) obsession to be demi-gods that make them prescribe medicines without even knowing about their use. Let's ask some not-so-intelligent questions, which might change our perspective - How many prescriptions 'really' have a proper diagnosis? Why do doctors have illegible handwriting? (I am sure that cannot be a prerequisite to enter med school)

Is it not unethical to pretend? To pretend that you know more than the person on the diagnostic table; pretend that it's under control, when you have no clue whatsoever of what it is! Is is not unethical to crush the trust of fellow humans? Is it not unethical to be dishonest to your own profession? Is it not unethical to NOT update yourself with all the latest findings and information related to your profession, specially when it deals with human life? Is it not unethical to be so ignorant about the latest medicines before prescribing it? At least know about the effects and (here is the scary part) the ill-effects medicines. Too much to ask for as a patient?

And the last question, is it not unethical and criminal to excuse 'lack of medical knowledge' of such doctors ??

Why don't we get a class in our schools on some basic bio-chemistry? Why are WE a mystery to OURSELVES? Do we deserve to depend on someone else as much ..

why in the world

they say questions are good. I say questions are good. Yet, we also agree that it can be quite exasperating an event.
For example, when someone is holding his heart on his hands only for you, it can be tragic if you ask, "But what is love?"
